SUMMARY This position is responsible to perform technical work required to keep workstations and laptop computers operational, installation of software, desk side support and related work as tickets come in or assigned.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to utilize oral and written communication effectively with end-users and staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis in customer service, including experience handling difficult customers and conflict resolution.
  • Assists, remotely and in person, with installation and upgrade of hardware, software, and related peripherals
  • Assists, remotely and in person, with workstation and laptop maintenance and support, Desk Side support, installs, staff moves, adds, and changes
  • Perform work required to resolve tickets daily.
  • Maintains documentation on issues that we can access in the future for common and complex issues
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

SUPERVISION RECEIVED Daily morning briefing and weekly team meetings Friday afternoons, either in person or virtually. Considerable change from day to day, but usually within some reasonable and expected bounds. Much of the work is support, so as problems and tickets are placed into the ticket system this role would work the tickets and problems.


KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

  • Ability to use and effectively troubleshoot Windows 10 & Windows 11.
  • Ability to use and effectively troubleshoot Microsoft Office 2016, 2019 and Office 365
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot Workstation and Laptop hardware problems.
  • Ability to use Quick Assist effectively to work remotely with staff to troubleshoot or install needed software.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Completion of 4-years of high school, or equivalent, plus some additional specialized training OR Over 1 year and up to and including 2 years in an IT Support position.


LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Any additional language skills are a plus.
